My garden was built on a part of the habitat plot located in Cyców. Due to professional work, lack of time and distance (approx. 45 km from the house), it was supposed to be a maintenance-free garden: wild grass, a few conifers and nettles. It did not happen. The new passion took hold of me instantly and completely. I was infected with my sympathy for plants by my brother Mariusz, who pampered his own beautiful garden next door.
Slowly, we have planned the first plantings in our area. Then there were decorative stones, flower beds with various kinds of flowers, flowers and ornamental grasses, and with time also a lawn.
We have divided the garden into several corners, and each of them has its own unique appearance. We tried to select plants in such a way that they would be pleasing to the eyes all year round. From the access side and from the street, the garden is protected by a hedge of ten-year-old conifers. This is whereNorway sprucePicea abies reigns. The three-year-oldsilver sprucePicea pungens was planted in a row on the border of the plots.
The central place is taken byperukowiec podolskand Cotinus coggygria. Its leaves are green at first and turn yellow and red in late autumn. Fluffy pinkish seed heads additionally decorate our plot.
Beautiful grasses attract attention. Dominant isMiscanthus giganteusMiskanthus giganteus andChinese Miscanthus 'Gracillimus'Miscanthus sinensis. In my collection I also haveJapanese rozplenicaPennisetum alopecuroides. I regularly plant both delicate, colorful annual flowers and perennial perennials on flowerbeds.
In my garden there is alsoclematisClematis and the popular kiwi, that isAktinidia kiwifruitActinidia arguta. My pride wasclimbing rose 'Sympathie'Rosa 'Sympathie'. Unfortunately, the harsh winter destroyed several-year-old specimens on the pergola. For next year, however, I already plan to plant again.
Many of my plants look the most beautiful in autumn. This is when their leaves color fantastically, creating a rainbow of colors from yellow to purple. It looks very decorativebarberryBerberis. This shrub can grow up to 3 meters. Fortunately, my specimens are not that big yet. However, they look beautiful in October and November. The colorful leaves delight with the intensity of the colors. Anyway, it is thanks to them that a person has the impression that autumn will never end. Dahlias, asters, wintertime or chrysanthemums may already bloom, and these colorful shrubs are proudly frizzing in the last rays of the pre-winter sun.
Since we bought a plot, working in the garden has become my great hobby. It gives me satisfaction and a sense of life fulfillment. Even when it gets gray outside and the snow covers the whole earth, it is good to walk around our paradise. Thanks to evergreen plants and ornamental shrubs, I have the impression that for every gardener the season lasts all year round.
