The idea behind the OAS1S ™ project assumes the return of man to the bosom of nature, offering houses with a structure inspired by trees - made entirely of wood, insulated with a green, living facade. The creator of the project - Raimond de Hullu dreams of creating entire estates like a forest, where families could live in harmony with nature.
Raimond de Hullu rightly noticed that this tree is one of the oldest, and thus the most perfect forms created by nature. The form that people should be inspired to look for new ideas for building houses in the future. Hence the use of the shape of a tree trunk in the OAS1S ™ project, which allows for the creation of a friendly and ecological living space.
Inspiration with nature manifests itself not only in the structure of the building. The entire project has been thought out and designed so that the houses use only renewable resources, and their construction was carried out in an ecological manner, only biodegradable materials.OAS1S ™ philosophy is manifested in - among other things - the use of the idea cradle-to-cradle, assuming the design of things putting the good of nature first and the off-grid concept - for which tree houses would obtain electricity from solar panels, and water from filtered and stored rainwater.
The project involves the creation of houses that are maximally adapted to future members of the household, a standard four-level apartment is about 160 m² of living space.
We spoke to Raimond de Hullu - the originator of OAS1S ™. Interview transcript below:
BS : Jake acc. Do you benefit from living in a house built by OAS1S ™?
Raimond de Hullu : The advantages of the OAS1S ™ project are living in an attractive and accessible environment that is designed to positively influence the mind, body and soul.
BS : We know that your design combines the ideas of tree-inspired houses with a 100% ecological approach to both production and everyday use. Please, reveal the backstage of the idea?
RdH : I remember the first inspirations to create this concept from my childhood. I grew up in the countryside in South Holland spending a lot of time in the woods or on the beach. Hence my love of nature. When my father decided to build a house, I fell in love with architecture. I was fascinated by the idea to connect these two worlds. Finding solutions to combine nature and architecture has become my passion, which I developed during my studies, as I also became interested in urban planning. When I saw the green wall designs, a concept developed for me, which I started working on a few years ago.
Currently, I want to start a cycle of changes by introducing a new type of building. The mission of OAS1S ™ is to introduce the world to green architecture, thanks to which people can get closer to nature. The goal, on the other hand, is to improve cities by putting into use homes that derive from the timeless advantages of trees and forests - the oldest and one of the most valuable forms that they live on earth.OAS1S ™ Design Architecture aims to achieve this mission and this goal. It is a passionate, innovative response to the current needs of global urbanization. A concept where everyone benefits - people, nature and society.

BS : How many houses / estates are built at the moment, drawing on the foundations of the OAS1S ™ idea?
RdH : We are currently negotiating the creation of projects in, inter alia, The United States, Canada, Brazil and the Philippines. We will probably start designing and implementation soon, as the plans themselves are practically ready. It is normal that our basic project needs slight changes to adapt it to the local climate, law and, of course, individual expectations of the recipients. Our projects may seem futuristic, but our houses are built using traditional techniques and real, proven and widely available technologies.
Currently, the first project has practically been approved - only the choice of location remains. Our concept is universal for both urban and natural locations, but you still need to choose the exact location. My dream is to create an OAS1S ™ district that will positively affect unattractive urban areas. I would also like the OAS1S ™ initiative to create an eco-resort that best embodies the natural side of the project. Both of these variants, however, have the essence of the project - introducing a balance between architecture and nature.
BS : The OAS1S ™ project includes two groundbreaking ideas - cradle-to-cradle (design in harmony with natural processes) and off-grid (self-sufficient house, using water and electricity from renewable sources). To what extent do they affect the protection of the environment and do they have a negative effect on the comfort of users?
RdH : C2C and off-grid go hand in hand with modern comfort, as has been shown by many projects using this ideology prior to OAS1S ™ . So they can provide he althy living conditions without electricity or water bills.
BS : Thank you for the interview.
RdH : Greetings too!
