Yarrow and its garden varietiesare completely frost-resistant and have low soil requirements. They grow well in poorly fertile and dry soils, in well-sunny positions. Only clay and acidic soils fail. It is advisable to feed the soil with compost once a year, because yarrow grows best in soil rich in humus.
One of the important treatments in the cultivation of yarrow is the removal of bleeding inflorescencesYarrow shoots can be left for the winter. Then we strongly prune them in the spring. We also need to control the plant so that it does not grow excessively with the help of underground rhizomes and that it does not choke other plants in the bed.
Propagation of the garden yarrowcan be done primarily by dividing the root ball in the early spring period (in April). This treatment must be carried out at least every 3-4 years in order to rejuvenate the plants. It is also possible to sow seeds, but remember that decorative varieties of yarrow may not repeat the characteristics of the mother plant.
