Plants of the mentioned species grow best in a permeable and humus medium with a slightly acidic pH (pH 5.5-6.5).It can be, for example, a peat substrate with the addition of leaf or compost soil and coarse sand or a mixture of leaf and compost soil and sand with the addition of perlite.
The plants are fed every 3 or even every 4 weeks from March to September. We use fertilizers intended for plants with decorative leaves or decorative flowers.
In spring and summer, when the plants are growing intensively, we water them so that the soil is constantly slightly moist, but not wet.In autumn and winter, watering should be slightly limited, but not allowing the root ball to dry out.Note! During this period, the Australian cisus is particularly sensitive to excess water.
Climbers do best in well-lit places, but do not like strong sunlight. In Australian cisus, they can cause stains on the leaves - first transparent, then yellow and brown - and then their fall.Philodendron leaves in places with strong sunlight lose their dark green and become dull, and at the same time are attacked by spider mites.
The described species and varieties of creepers are thermophilic plants. They require a temperature of 18 to 26ºC for optimal development. In winter, cooler rooms with a temperature of 15-17ºC serve them better.
These plants are propagated by means of shoot cuttings with two nodes (with 1, 2 or 3 leaves). The cuttings take root well in water, moist peat, sand or perlite.
