"The color, habit, proper growth and general condition of plants largely depend on the method of irrigation" - Andrzej Stera, Szczecin

Many of us have plots or home gardens where we grow ourfavorites plantsondomestic window sillspotted flowers. So practically all of us have more or less experience in growing plants and we all know that they need to be watered and fertilized to keep them in good condition.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows thatsimple activity , which is watering, can be made more effective by followingseveral basic rules . And that's what I want to write about.

1. Time of day

First of all, we need to pay attention to the time of day, when we are going to to waterWhy is it so important? Well, if we water the plant at the wrong time, most of the water will simply evaporate. My first advice is: don't water in the morning, not in the middle of the day or in the afternoon when the temperature is high, but in the eveningwhen it gets colder . This waywill protect plantsfrom too fastevaporation downloaded water

2. Evening watering

Becausetotal we pourwater directly onto the plant, the drops remaining on the surface of the leaves form tiny lenses. The light falling through themlight sunlightfocuses on one point, which in turn leads toburnsplantsEvening watering significantly reduces thisprocessandprotects plants against burns.

3. Water with the appropriate syntax

The quality of the water we water the plants also hasgreat meaningThe one taken directly from the tap does not serve them at all. Containschlorine, calcium, iron, metalsheavy, but also variousbacteria, fungiorparasites.Any of these pollutants negatively affects the condition of our plants. For example, calcium changes the pH ofsoil, leadandcopperslow down the photosynthesis process and bacteria attack the root system .

The most difficult to combat, however, once the plant is infected, are fungi and fungus-like organisms. They are found in virtually every environment, and many of them really needminimal conditionstofastdevelopmentAfter infection, these organisms produce substances that are often very dangerous also tohe althandlife human !

4. Use of distilled water

To protect our plants from theseall threats , the ideal would be to usewaterdistilledUnfortunately, completely sterile water can leach soil nutrients. Therefore, I believe that the best solution is to use the popularfilters kitchen They purify tap water frommetalsandexcess chlorineandcalciumI pour this filtered water into any containers - bottles, jars, watering cans - and set aside for 2-3 days, so thatdie microorganismscontained in it. Remember that water taken directly from the tap must not be used for watering!

5. Water preparation - filtering or boiling

If someone does not want to filter the water, alternative solutionis itsboilingandleaving to cool. This way we will also get rid of livingorganisms, soften the waterand reduce the content of unwantedunwanted elements

6. Sprinkling flowers

Another thing I urge everyone to do is regularsprinkling our flowersMost plants because it draws water not only from the soil, but also from the atmosphere. As an example, I will give you somespeciesof orchids which are epiphytes, that is, they settle on other organisms but feed on their own. These plants do not have contact with the ground, and they get the water they needfrom the atmosphere , i.e. from rainfall, mists or simply from water vapor, which is saturated withair Also other plantsgroundandpottedhave significant requirements as to air humidity.

For example, ferns needposts semi-shadedhumid
and in their case, spraying is very advisable, even every 2-3 days. Similarly, dracaena (also its popular variety 'Lucky Bamboo') grows much better when they aresystematically sprayed . Not as often as ferns, of course.

Some of my friends are skeptical about this advice, believing that it is a recommendation that does not work in practice. Then I suggest thatat least tryI explain that after a longer period of timeusing water preparedin this way they will notice the difference incolor ,form ,growthandgeneral condition plants

By following thesea few simple rules , we will significantlyimprove the living conditions of our plants.
