Some species (eg Calathea crocata) develop yellow cone-shaped flowers in January and February. Kalatea belongs to the so-called plants on a short day, meaning it blooms when the daily exposure period is less than a certain critical value; if the exposure time is longer, the plants will not bloom.
The best growing conditions are in semi-shaded places, e.g. in warm winter gardens.The temperature should remain at the level of 16-18 degrees Celsius, the enemy of plants is drafts and cold.
Water generously in summer, moderately in winter. We use lukewarm water for watering. Kalatealikes positions with high air humidity, therefore it is advisable to sprinkle the plants frequently.
