Topsin M 500 SC has been withdrawndue to non-renewal by the European Parliament (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2020/1498 of 15 October 2020) of the approval of the active substance thiophanate methyl. This substance was the main ingredient in Topsin M 500 SC.
EU Member States, including Poland, have been obliged to withdraw authorizations for placing plant protection products on the market that contain thiophanate-methyl.In addition to Topsin M 500 SC, a number of different plant protection products based on this substance have been phased out, including the garden ointment that is highly appreciated by gardeners Funaben Plus 03 PA.
Agents based on substances such as methyl thiophanateare withdrawn due to their harmfulness to the environment and human he alth , as well as the possibility of pathogens becoming resistant to substances that have been used for a long time. Currently, we have many other, more modern plant protection products at our disposal, which are highly effective and less harmful to the environment.

Co instead of Topsin M 500 SC - alternatives recommended

Due to the recall of Topsin M 500 SC , many people ask us about recommended substitutes.Topsin M 500 SC has many applications in horticulture and gardeners have become accustomed to using this product.
Of course, no other product has the same range of applications as Topsin M 500 SC. However, we will try to suggest preparationsthat can largely replace Topsin M 500 SCand can be useful especially in amateur crops, in home and allotment gardens.
Switch 62.5 WG- is the most frequently recommended replacement for Topsin M 500 SC by professionals. It is a fungicide with a wide range of uses. It can fight fungal diseases on ornamental plants, fruit trees and shrubs, and vegetables. The diseases that are combated include, among others. gray mold, powdery mildew, anthracnose, cottage cheese rot and brown rot of stone rootstocks.
However, it should be remembered that Switch 62.5 WG is a granular agent for the preparation of an aqueous suspension. Sohas a slightly different form than Topsin M 500 SC , which was a concentrate in the form of a suspension (it was in a liquid form). This may be a problem for people who are used to using Topsin M 500 SC.More information on the use of Switch 62.5 WG can be found in the description on our website.

Scorpion 325 SC- this is the second most frequently indicated replacement for Topsin M 500 SC. It combats a wide range of fungal diseases in a variety of crops. Like Topsin M 500, it can be used against gray mold, powdery mildew and blemish. However, Scorpion 325 SCoffers much wider application possibilities than Topsin M 500 SC , as it also fights dangerous diseases that Topsin M 500 SC could not cope with. These are, among others Phytophthora and various types of rust, including juniper rust.
Like Topsin M 500 SC, Scorpion 325 SC is a concentrated suspension, which will make dosing easier for people who are used to Topsin.

As more chemical pesticides are phased out, it is worth looking for an ecological and natural alternative.
Limocide- is a preparation based on natural orange oil, which acts as an insecticide, acaricide and fungicide. This means that it can be used to combat fungal diseases of plants, but also pests, including spider mites. Its high efficiency has been confirmed by tests required for plant protection products. In addition, it can be used in ecological cultivation in gardens and allotments.Ecological Limocide can be used instead of Topsin M 500 SC to combat fungal diseases such as gray mold and powdery mildew. However, it should be emphasized that the effectiveness of this preparation may be lower than it was in the case of Topsin M 500 SC.
