Table of contents

Weeds, moss and blooms on cobblestonesis a nuisance for all owners of home alleys and driveways. They appear in the gaps between the tiles and the paving stone, as well as over the entire surface of the paving stone, especially if the surface is in a damp and shaded place. However, there are several effective ways to combat them. See what it looks likeremoving weeds from paving stones ,how to fight moss on the ankleand how to protect the pavement so thatblooms on the ankle do not appear paving stoneWays to eliminate weeds and moss on the cobblestones is suggested by Mrs. Małgorzata Gral from Jadar.

Weeds on paving stones can be removed mechanically

Removing weeds and moss from paving stones

Whenweeds appear on the cobblestonesthe simplest method is of course mechanical, i.e. manual removal of all unwanted plants that grow between the gaps in our paths. - Remember to uproot them with the roots, as removing the green part of the plant itself often results in its rapid regeneration. There are various tools available for sale that can facilitate this task - says Małgorzata Gral from Jadar.

The mechanical removal method works unfortunately only whenthe weeds on the cobblestonesgrow individually and in small amounts. In the case of intensive weed growth, more radical solutions such as a gas burner should be used. This method works especially when our biggest problem is excessive moss growth. Use a burner to remove the moss on the paving stone once and for all

What remedy for moss and weeds on cobblestones

There are many preparations available on the market forpaving stone weed controlHowever, use herbicides wisely. - The use of strong chemicals should be the last resort. You should only use them when other methods fail - advises Małgorzata Gral, an expert from Jadar.
The use of chemicals such as Roundup or other glyphosate-based agents (they destroy all types of weeds) fully allows us to remove unwanted weeds. However, remember to be careful and not to accidentally spray other plants, because we will also destroy them.

It is worth knowing, however, thatglyphosate used in herbicides, such as e.g.Roundup, unfortunately, raises many doubts and is suspected of being very harmful both to the environment and people(carcinogenic substance). Therefore, we definitelyrecommend the natural Effect 24Hpreparation, based on a plant substance derived from pelargonium oil. It isan excellent agent for combating both weeds and moss on cobblestones(we will solve two problems with one treatment), and the effects of the spraying can be seen after a few hours. If we want clean paving stones without harm to our he alth, let's replace Roundup with Effect 24H.It is also worth noting that with Effect 24H we can combat weeds and moss in the garden also on flower beds and vegetable beds (cleaning weeds before setting up the crop) and spray the soil between trees, e.g. in an orchard.

Regardless of what agent is chosen to combat weeds and moss on the cobblestones, use protective gloves when spraying, and wash your hands thoroughly after work. Spraying weeds on paving stonesis performed with a sprayer with a connected soil lance. The agent for weeds on the cobblestones should reach all the gaps between the cubes, because only then will it be fully effective.

An alternative to buying ready-made products can be home remedies for weeds. I recommend preparing your own, natural and definitely the most ecological vinegar-based preparation. The product is rather known to gardeners, because vinegar in the garden has many more uses.
To prepare ourhome remedy for weeds on cobblestonesmix vinegar with water in a 2: 1 ratio and sprinkle all the weeds with the resulting solution. For a better effect, we can repeat this treatment several times, even using only vinegar. However, do not use any s alt solutions for this purpose, which may have a negative effect on the soil in the garden and the paving stones itself.
Remember also that vinegar for weeds in cobblestones should be used on sunny and rainless days, as excessive damp or dew will prevent the vinegar from working and the weeds will not dry out.Strong sunlight and high air temperature will makeweeds die quickly after using vinegar

Note! Before you apply any preparations on the paving stones, check their operation on a small fragment of the paved surface, somewhere out of the way. This way you will avoid accidental damage or discoloration of the ankle.

Blooms on paving stones

Weeds and moss on paving stonesmay appear not only in the joints between the stones, but also on their surface.Efflorescence on paving stonesand the formation of discoloration can be reduced by using special impregnants, the use of which will also facilitate cleaning of the surface. It will also reduce the degree of penetration of various substances into the material - both of plant origin, as well as mud or sand, thanks to which we will prevent the formation of new discoloration. Such an impregnation of the paving stones is best done immediately on the new surface, as soon as the paving stones are finished and the joints between the stones are sanded. Deposits on the surface of the cube can be removed with a pressure washer. - Avoid mechanical means of removing moss and sediment from the surface of the block other than pressurized water. They can lead to the disturbance of the structure of the material, which may reduce the aesthetic value of the paving stone and its resistance to external factors - emphasizes the Jadar expert.
However, if the paving stones have not been impregnated before and they are largely covered with moss or other blooms, Bruker Spray will help. This agent effectivelyremoves the green coating created by mosses, algae and lichenson various types of surfaces: terraces, stairs, wood, ceramics and stone. So it will be useful not only for cleaning paving stones.Bruker Spray is safe for paved surfaces , and when used regularly, it prevents the reappearance of tarnish.
