Pear scabis a disease caused by the Venturia pyrina fungus and manifests itself almost identically to apple scab.
Symptoms of pear scabcan be observed from May, and the development of the disease is favored by long-term wetting of the leaves as a result of rain or fog (9 hours of wetting the leaves are enough for the fungus to easily infect them) and the air temperature within 17-23 ° C.Symptoms of scab are most often seen on pear leaves and fruits , less often on the tips of young shoots and flower buds.

Before we reach forchemical spraying on pear scablet's use all available natural methods that will stop or at least limit the development of this disease.
First of all, in areas where pear trees are often infested with scab, avoid planting scab susceptible varieties. In fact, there are novarieties of pear that are completely resistant to scabbut there are varieties that are extremely insensitive to this disease.
Pear cultivars sensitive to scab:Faworytka (Klapsa), Lukasówka, Lawrance, Dobra Ludwika.
Pear cultivars moderately sensitive to scab:Confectionery, Conference, Parisian, Pear William, Packham's Triumph,
Pear varieties highly resistant to scab:Lipcówka Kolorowa, Trewinka, Bera Hardy, Parisian
Afternoticing the first symptoms of pear scab , remove the affected parts of the plants. Fruit and fruit with symptoms of the disease will not be fit for consumption anyway. In autumn, we remove all fallen leaves from under the affected tree, because it is on the fallen leaves that the fungus hibernates to infect the tree the next year. Raided leaves are best burned.
If it is not possible to rake all the leaves,in the fall, during the leaf fall, spray with 5% urea solutionThoroughly spray the entire crown of the tree and the leaves remaining on it, as well as all the leaves that have already fallen.Urea spraying of fruit trees destroys up to 95% of the fungus spores. Urea fertilizer applied in the fall in the form of spraying allows us to reduce the risk of disease contamination in the next season.

Spray pear with copper against scabis done in the green bud phase and in the bud break phase, when green leaf cones simultaneously appear. In total, you can spray pear with Miedzian with an interval of 7-10 days. Due to the risk of burns, this agent is only used for the first sprays. Possible later spraying is done with other fungicides.
Since 2018, the range of available anti-scab preparationshas been joined by Evasiol - a natural preparation based on horsetail.
The beneficial effects and high efficiency of spraying with horsetail preparations have been appreciated by ecological gardeners for many years years. Until now, however, you had to collect horsetail herb and prepare preparations based on it, which was quite time-consuming. As a result, many people gave up this valued method. Thanks to the appearance of Evasiol, we have a ready-made horsetail preparationJust dissolve it in water and the spray is ready!
Ecological spraying against pear scabwith the Evasiol preparation we can perform from the flower bud bursting to drying up of the flowers, performing a total of 2-6 treatments at intervals of 7 days.In the same way, we also fight powdery mildew and scab on apple trees, as well as peach leaf curl.
