And this is the case with gardens on a slope, a slope, which in itself is a rather significant obstacle. However, if in such a case you choose cascades and terraces, you can create a unique space that hides something different on each level.
And the cascades are nothing more than a system of retaining walls that allow for leveling and flattening the area. Thanks to this, the garden becomes more interesting and functional. This can be done with the help of stone retaining walls that support the individual land ledges. Additionally, the walls must be connected to the stair system, which ensures communication between the individual floors of the garden.
It is also worth noting that the cascade garden is a perfect example of the fact that gardens can be interesting all year round. It is due to the skilful development and introduction of interesting elements of small architecture. These walls, depending on the style of the garden, can be made of modern elements, e.g. interesting bricks or masonry systems, as well as of natural stone, which will be perfect for less formal and casual gardens.
Importantly, it is a cool and effective solution, and carefully arranged stone walls make the garden even more interesting in general reception. And as I mentioned, what is a disadvantage suddenly becomes an advantage. In addition, this solution allows for an interesting and consistent development of the entire space, but above all, it gives the opportunity to create a variety and many elements that naturally attract the eye. The walls can also be combined with other elements of garden development, for example impressive rockeries or stone paths. Then the whole thing looks even more impressive, and the stone becomes the leading element of the garden.
The cascade garden is not the cheapest solution, however. It costs both the material and the labor itself, which in this case must be performed flawlessly. Walls require an appropriate foundation as well as solid brickwork to provide adequate support for the upper floors of the area. And it is all the more important, the more sloping the slope and the higher the individual shelves. However, if everything is done correctly, you can enjoy a truly unique garden that is much more interesting than one flat surface.
