Essential oils are compounds produced by aromatic plants such as mint, thyme, pine and cumin. They are found in all parts of plants, even in the bark of trees. They are chemically complex mixtures with up to 150 different compounds. Of these, a few of the most important groups are: terpenes, alcohols, esters, phenols and ethers. They can act as natural repellants, herbicides and pesticides. They cause disturbances in the development and reproduction of fungi, bacteria and insects. They only work by contact.

Fungicidal oils

The most popular oils that inhibit the growth of many species of mushrooms are: citronella, onion, garlic, cinnamon, oregano, mint and thyme oil. In the fight against diseases caused by fungi, we can also effectively use tea tree oil, which we use not only to prevent infection, but also for fungicides.

Oils can be used for seed treatment, and it is effective! Research by scientists from the University of Opole has shown that the same effect as the Funaben T mortar on the pathogen causing plant fusariosis is also given by a mixture of oils: thyme, lemongrass and Litsea-Cubeba, tea tree, grapefruit and verbena.
