We assume an inspect

Thanks to the frame, some vegetables, such as early varieties of onions, carrots, spinach, can be sown into the ground at the end of February. The frame works similarly to a greenhouse: it heats the air and the ground, accelerating the germination and development of seedlings.It is irreplaceable in the production of seedlings and hardening plants.

If the frame is placed on a raised bed, using organic plant material or manure as the core of the substrate, plant development will be even faster.This will be caused by the heat generated during the decomposition of matter (warm frame).Place a thin layer of leaves or straw chaff between the manure and the ground.

Fermenting compost can be used instead of manure. Leave the poured heating layer in a closed inspection for a few days, then carefully tread it. PLater, add the substrate (15-20 cm) - compost or garden soil will be the best.

Setting up the inspection step by step

1.Place the chest on a sunny, sheltered position . The lower side should face south, which will guarantee optimal sunlight for the inspection;

2. From the inner wall of the box, use the corner of the spade to trace the edges of the hole. Put the crate aside;

3. We proceed to selecting the ground;

4. The depth of the trench depends on the type of inspection.If you decide to use a warm frame, the soil should be chosen about 50 cm deep.If you plan to sprinkle only a thin layer of semi-mature compost on the bottom of the trench (as in this case), dig it to the height of the spade;

5. We backfill the trench. If manure is the core of the substrate, spread it layer by layer to a thickness of approx. 40 cm, trampling each layer.Then we scatter the gardening soil.In this assumption, only a 15 cm layer of semi-mature compost was sprinkled on the bottom of the well, and on it 50 liters of garden soil;

6. We level the ground;

7. We set the chest again.Pay attention that the boards adhere well to the ground.In places where there are clearances, we sprinkle the soil;

8. We plant seedlings and / or sow. At the turn of February and March, we can sow early varieties of cruciferous vegetables, leeks, onions, and various types of lettuce.

Beware of the sun!

Let's not underestimate the power of the sun's rays. On mild, sunny days, the temperature in the inspection may rise considerably. Therefore, as soon as it gets warm, the inspection window has to be opened.On the other hand, during a frosty night, the inspector becomes very cold.Such temperature fluctuations are never good for plants, so it is worth covering the box at night with a heat-insulating mat.While in a warm inspection, we can start working already in February, in the cold inspection they usually start in mid-March.
