The garden is full of surprises in summer. Aromatic food additives find their favorite place wherever they can enjoy large amounts of solar energy and fresh air. A small garden can fit even 1 m2. Fragrant plants, however, differ in their soil preferences.Some herbs, incl.sage , lavender, savory and thyme, come from the south and feel best in poorly fertile and permeable soil. Small plant species are planted in the foreground and taller plants are placed in the center of the mixed herb bed. Make sure that the flower bed is accessible from all sides.Such a location will allow us to easily harvest kitchen delicacies. It is also beneficial for plants.Regular pinching of the tops of the shoots in the summer makes the herbs more branching the next season.

For those looking for exceptional specimens, it is worth recommending 'Ginger' thyme with the scent of ginger, orange and lemon. Children will be pleased with Artemisia procera, whose leaves have the smell and taste of Coca Cola.These plants are best planted on the edge of the bed, so that their aroma is quickly spread in the air even after accidentally touching the shoots.

Some Mediterranean herbs, such as curry herb, rosemary or Lavandula x intermedia fragrant lavender, are perennial plants, but in periods of more severe frost they need to be covered with a layer of brushwood or agrotextile.When buying herbs, it is worth asking about frost-resistant varieties.
