1. We create an inspect
The raised garden is made of four trapezoidal boxes. We build each of them from a 3 meter long board and three boards about 1 meter long. The ends of the boards are cut to fit better together. The elements are connected with metal flat bars.In this example the boxes are placed on a rectangular plan with sides 6x8 meters.
2. We prepare the frame
Use an upholstery stapler to attach the wire mesh to the square timber frame. We weave willow twigs between the eyelets. If we do not have the materials, we can buy a ready-made wicker panel).
3. We fasten the frame
Fasten the frame to the box with solid wood screws. Of course, we screw it to the long side of the box.
4. We fill the box with soil
The bottom of the box-flower bed is lined with non-woven fabric. The material is attached to the boards with an upholstery stapler. Thanks to this, the soil will not be washed out of the box during watering.Fill the box with the substrate to the top edge of the board.A mixture of high-quality horticultural soil and mature compost is the best for cultivation.
5. We compose a flower bed
We arrange the beds according to our own plan and idea. From mid-May we can start planting seedlings and sowing seeds. When setting up a rebate, the time of harvest and plant height should be taken into account, so that some vegetables do not obscure others.
6. We plant vegetables
Plant the beans and peas at the support. In the second row there are sunflower seeds, cabbage, zucchini, chard and fennel. In the first row you can plant radishes, lettuce and herbs.
7. We water and cultivate
After planting the crop, water it abundantly so that the plants take root.In summer you have to water it every day.
