Ways for snails

Table of contents

Snailsis a nuisance for many plot owners, because these creeping pests eagerly eat germinating young plants. It happens that only the stems are left on the flower bed. Here are my ways to fightsnails .

  • I noticed that my favorite placessnailsare shaded and damp. To sprout them, you need to destroy the weeds in the beds, mow the lawn and throw the plant remnants out of the beds every day to keep them from rotting.
  • A way to deal with thesepestsis also to plant species they dislike very much - medicine soapwort, thyme and marjoram. Their smell will effectively deter them.
  • Another method is to collect critters and take them out of the garden. It is best to go to a meadow or wasteland, because they will not harm anyone there.
  • The numberof snailswill be limited by digging the ground. You can also build obstacles around the beds - sprinkle sawdust, fine gravel, bark, pine needles, egg shells or finely broken bricks.
  • Quick lime is an effective method to sprinkle the paths. It causes dehydration ofsnailsand their destruction. However, lime should be used with caution as it can harm crops. We spread them in the evening, when it is not expected to rain and there is no wind.
  • The home way is to invite pests to… beer. We dig a large jar into the ground up to the edge and pour a little drink. Attracted by the smell, they will fall into the can and can be thrown away.
