We plant small-bulb ornamental plants

Table of contents

Saffron (crocus) bulbs, snowdrop and narcissus bulbs, and especially the 'Tete-a-Tete' variety from the group of Cyclamineus hybrids can be planted in September and early October on the lawn.We start the work by cutting out a layer of turf with a shovel, then dig a hole of appropriate size and carefully loosen its bottom.

Place the saffron tubers and snowdrop onions 6-8 centimeters deep at a distance of 10-15 centimeters, and narcissus bulbs 10-15 centimeters deep every 10-20 centimeters (depending on the size of the onion) in one group.

Then fill the hole with soil, cover it with turf and water it abundantly. We can start mowing lawns only when the leaves of the bulbs start to turn yellow.Earlier removal of leaves reduces the growth of tubers and bulbs, and thus contributes to the disappearance of plants.

With this in mind, the bulbs and tubers of the plant species selected by us can be planted on lawns, but in places of cut pieces of turf and then planted bulbs should not be covered with turf anymore.

The spring blooming effect will depend on the number and size of the colored spots formed from the flowers. Therefore let's plant onions in larger groups of a dozen or even several dozen.
