Hepatica - cultivation and care

Plant description

Przylaszczka, contrary to the adjective that describes it, is an unusual, beautiful perennial. It inhabits deciduous and mixed forests, sunlit, shady and warm. I strongly oppose the name of the hepatica, because the Latin name Hepatica nobilis unequivocally defines the plant with an adjective that means "noble", "excellent". The more that its charm, both during flowering and during the rest of the growing season, makes it one of the most beautiful, rare and most desirable early spring plants.

Hepatica habitI have been cultivating the hepatica for many years and I am still under the charm of its beautiful, blue flowers, as well as the decorative qualities of its interesting leaves.

Hepatica standThis spring plant likes partial shade. It prefers humus and calcareous soils, but it also persists in places that are not very favorable in terms of location and soil.

Hepatica reproduction

Hepatica can grow for years in the same place where it will spread. It can also be reproduced by dividing larger carp. This is best done right after flowering or at the end of summer.

Hepatica for turfingThe blue petals of the hepatica are a real delight for the eyes, along with other early spring plants. After flowering, they perfectly grass the area, providing a green cover throughout the season. Let us not forget that the hepatica is a protected plant and must not be obtained from the natural environment.
