Recipe for the Garden: winter on flower beds and flower beds

Why did my peach leaves twist and fall?

P:Two years ago I bought a he althy peach seedling. I was hoping that maybe this year I will see the first fruits. Unfortunately, the leaves of the tree first turned yellow and then red. They twisted and finally fell. What's the matter with the peach?

O:It looks like your tree has touched the curl of the peach leaves. It is a very dangerous disease that weakens the plant. Unfighted leads to her death. This is because a tree's natural frost resistance drops drastically after a few seasons.

As soon as the air temperature rises to a few degrees above zero and this condition lasts for a few days, please spray the peach once or twice (it depends on the severity of the disease).

It is important to thoroughly cover the entire tree with liquid - both the tops of the shoots and the cracks in the bark on the trunk.Protective treatments with these preparations are used in the period from the fall of leaves in autumn to the stage of bud swelling. There is no point in doing them later.

Throughout the growing season, you should also remove and then burn infected leaves and shoots. Underground ant nests near tree trunks should also be destroyed.

Where did these stains on the nuts come from?

P:There were a lot of black, slightly concave stains on the walnut shells in my orchard this year. Then the shells rotted. Not only that, I also saw such disturbing discoloration on the leaves. What kind of illness is that?

O:This is bacterial gangrene of walnut caused by the fungus Xanthomonas campestris. This pathogen hibernates in the buds and on the shoots. Branches affected by the disease die.I advise you to cut them into he althy tissue and destroy them, and cover the cutting wounds with protective pastes.

Additionally, spray the tree with the fungus preparation just before the flowering of female flowers. This treatment should then be repeated in the summer season in periods of high air humidity.

How to fight mallow rust?

P:The leaves of my mallow are covered with yellow spots for another year. It's rust, isn't it? I would not like to give up practicing them. How to effectively get rid of this disease?

O:Indeed, there is a high probability that it is mallow rust. Yellow-orange, then brownish warts - spore clusters should be visible on the underside of the leaf and on the shoots.

This type of rust occurs only on plants of the mallow family and will not attack other species. In spring you should pick up and burn the first 3-4 leaves and replant the plants to a new position. If symptoms occur anyway, please spray one of the preparations intended for these plants.
