In addition to traditional perennials, grasses and flowers, I also have a few giants in my collection. One of them is the frost-resistant purple plant.It is characterized by strong purple stems. On them grow flowers with a diameter of about 25 cm.They are pink-purple, gathered in baskets. The seedling does well in both sun and partial shade. Likes fertile and well-drained soils.
The next giant is rudbeckia naked. Reaches 2 meters. Perfect for planting places under fences and walls. This variety is characterized by strong shoots and shiny leaves covered with hair. He likes sunny positions.It hibernates in our climate without any problems and can tolerate even - 20 ° C, and when covered with a layer of snow, it can withstand even lower ones.We reproduce it in spring by dividing clumps. Faded flowers must be removed on a regular basis. This treatment will make the rudbeckia sprout new buds and bloom again.
Decorative sunflower is an annual plant, up to 2 meters high. The seeds are sown directly into the ground at the turn of April and May.Requires fertile soil and plenty of sun. It blooms from July to September.Perfect for cut flowers. It looks good when planted against a backdrop of lush evergreen plants.
Chinese miscanthus is another tall plant. Its leaves are reed-shaped, green, but they change color in autumn.Inflorescences form feathery panicles in various color combinations.It likes the sun and clay, moderately moist soil.We cut it in the spring and bind the leaves during the winter, thanks to which we protect the plant from frost.
