In autumn, damaged raspberry bark begins to crack, peel and turn gray or silver-gray in color. Disease symptoms intensify on second-year shoots and are clearest after wintering.The disease can be prevented by careful care of shrubs, thinning and removing older shoots immediately after fruiting.

This disease occurs practically on all fruit bushes.The dangerous fungus affects all organs of the plant.The symptoms of gray mold can be found on shoots, flowers, fruits, and in high humidity conditions also on leaves.

If the disease is not controlled, the shoots may die.When it is wet, the fruit becomes covered with a gray dusty mycelium coatingand rot.Protection of raspberries against this disease consists in removing infected shoots and applying chemical treatments.
