There are two ways to build a pond in your garden. The foil-lined basin can be of any shape and size.On the other hand, the finished plastic bowl has a form to which the excavation should be adjusted.
Before starting the excavation for the plastic pond, mark the outline of the shoreline with stakes. Already when digging the basin, we form stepped terraces to the bottom of the pond, where plant and animal life will develop. We remove stones and thick roots.
The entire surface of the finished pond is covered with a 5 cm thick layer of sand.Spread a non-woven fabric on it, which you can buy together with the pond foil in the garden center. It will protect the foil from below. Spread the foil loosely, taking care that it does not fold. We load the bottom and some terraces with stones and fill the pond with water. We dig a groove about 20 cm deep around the edge of the pond.Place the foil in it with the edge facing up, so that it does not protrude from the ground. Cover the groove with gravel. The basin for the finished shell should accurately reflect its shape. Smooth out any unevenness with sand.
Tuberous begonia is a persistent flowering plant for which its natural environment is in shaded areas. Unfortunately, when the summer is cool and rainy, plants are quite often attacked by powdery mildew, which is easy to see from the whitish fungal sediment.
New varieties from the Apadana series are resistant to mildew. These begonias are distinguished by large, full flowers in six colors, ranging from light yellow to apricot. Plants develop quite quickly and can be grown in amplas, balcony boxes, and pots. When watering, avoid flooding the leaves with water, direct the stream directly onto the ground.
Our efforts and even the most careful care will be useless if the bushes are planted in the wrong substrate, in the wrong position and, in addition, in the wrong way.
We advise against planting a hedge in positions previously occupied by woody plants, because in such places the soil may still be overgrown with roots.Heavy, wet clay soils should be mixed with coarse sand before planting. Before planting in the hole, the bottom should be loosened, especially when planting deeply rooted plants, e.g. laurel plant. You should also remember that cutting should not be delayed too long, it is best to do it right after planting.
The asparagus season, both white (bleached) and green, ends in the last decade of June, then the plants should develop leaves.Whoever collects asparagus longer risks a decline in fertility in the next year. Now loosen the substrate for asparagus and feed it with fresh humus in the form of mature, sieved compost.
Main power is performed after harvesting the crops; then we feed the substrate with nettle fertilizer (2-3 l / m2) or with vegetable fertilizer (approx. 30 g / m2). Cut off the leaves that break out in late autumn and compost them.Plants infected, for example, with rust or attacked by pests, such as chokeberry, are burned.
More prolific kiwi
Actinidia is pollinated by bees and other insects, but actinidia flowers are relatively unattractive to them, so there must be plenty of insects for good pollination to occur. If this is not the case, you can pollinate 5 female flowers with one picked male flower.
Lawn within trees
Lawns within the crown of fruit trees should be mowed once a week.Short-mown grass roots shallow, which prevents it from taking too much water and nutrients from the ground.Leave the cut grass on the ground; decomposing swath produces humus, maintains moisture in the substrate and supplies nitrogen.
Cleanliness above all
Apple and plum trees themselves regulate the amount of fruit on the tree and shed some of them themselves. These undeveloped fruits can be occupied by saw palmetto larvae, so they must be harvested and destroyed.
Summer cutting of the rows
Lanes of apple and pear trees should be trimmed in summer. When cutting, use a pruner to shorten the tops of young shoots. Thanks to this, in the next year they will bloom and bear fruit more.
Be careful with the raspberries!
Raspberries are very sensitive to bruising, so they should be collected in shallow baskets. The bottom and sides of the basket should be lined with a paper towel.
