Autumn is a good time to plant trees, better than spring. There is more rainfall this time of year and the temperature of the soil is favorable for root development.
Some people advise planting ambergris in spring, but experts say autumn is better.Trees planted at this time of year have time to sprout before winter, which means less watering in spring.
The trees are planted in a sunny and sheltered place. Let's check how wide the crown the variety we plant has and determine the tree spacing (usually every 4 meters). The substrate must not be waterlogged.
1. The planting hole should have twice the volume of the root ball (in width and height).
2. Check the depth and width with the previously made measure.
3. The bottom of the hole must be stirred (preferably with an American pitchfork) to facilitate water seepage into the soil.
4. Take the tree out of the container, tilting it.
5. Place the root ball in the center of the hole and sprinkle the soil.
6. We verticalize the main shoot.
7. We tread the ground around the trunk evenly. In order to prevent the tree from being knocked down by strong gusts of wind, you need to support it.To do this, drive three wooden pegs, each approx. 250 centimeters long, into the ground.
8. We measure the distance from the trunk, it should be about 30 centimeters. Stick the sticks into the selected places.
9. Drive the pegs into the ground to a depth of approx. 50 centimeters.
10. We connect their upper ends in a triangle with slats (a cordless drill and screws will be useful), which will provide the structure with the desired stability.
11. The trunk is tied to the pegs with a rope, thanks to which the tree also gains stability.
12. The binding is made by braiding the joining of the trunk with the stake.
13. If the binding is done correctly, the momentum should not deviate from the vertical.Staples are attached to the loops to prevent the cord from sliding off the pins.
14. On the line of the circle marked on the ground by pegs, build a shaft that prevents water from spilling out after watering. We irrigate.
15. Feed the trees with potassium fertilizer, and mulch the ground in the basin with bark.
16. Ready! Remember to water the trees this and next year.
