P:I bought a Sundavilla. How am I supposed to nurture it and how to reproduce it?
O:Sundavilla is a trade name for mandevilla (syn.Dipladenia ) from the Japanese plant breeding company Suntory. It is a climber related toperiwinkleandoleanderWith proper care, it blooms continuously from May to October. Requires a light but semi-shaded place, fertile and well-drained substrate. In summer the plant needs a lot of water, every two weeks it needs a compound fertilizer forplants flowering plants After flowering, the mandevilla can be trimmed a bit, while removing too many new shoots. Thanks to this, the plant will produce a lot of flower buds next year.

In winter we water the climber in moderation, it is worth placing containers with water around the pot in order to increase the air humidity. At the turn ofJanuaryandFebruarymandevilla should have a rest period at a temperature of 12-15 ° C and with sparing watering. If the plant loses its leaves, it is too cool. Every yearin springthe creeper should be transplanted into fertile soil. In early spring, they can be trimmed to give it a bushy shape, which is especially important in smaller rooms.
Mandevilla is propagated from herbaceous and semi-woody cuttings by dipping the ends into a rooting agent. Use a mix ofcoarse-grained sandandpeat de-acidified Seedlingsneed high temperatures (24-27ºC), which is quite difficult to achieve at home.
P:I bought a house in the countryside. The area around it has three levels. On the lower one, I decided to sow a lawn. The next scarp is 1.5 m high and the house stands on it. I planted rock plants between the stones on it. I do not know what plants to connect the rockery with a flower garden. Behind the house I have another slope made of large stones at a height of about 1 m and I want to plant conifers on it. Is it good idea?
O:Garden rockyfrom the flower one can be separated by a composition of not too tall flowering shrubs deciduous, e.g.Japanese tawuła 'Goldflame', 'Little Princess',lilakMeyer 'Palibin', also of conifers, e.g. dwarf varieties of columnar formsjunipers , and also creeping varieties of junipers, e.g.juniper sabiński'Tamariscifolia'. Filling the slope with creeping junipers is a good idea, as these shrubs grow quickly, obscuring the earth's surface, and their roots grow over the slope and thus bind the ground, preventing it from sliding.
The commercial offer of junipers with different needle colors is large and the shrubs can be selected so that the composition is not monotonous. To loosen the plantings of conifers only, it is worth adding two or three species of deciduous shrubs, e.g. the above-mentionedtawuły ,rosesground coverorirgaor low varietiesbarberrywith colorful leaves, like Thunberg's barberry 'Atropurpurea Nana'.
