Young fruit has numerous, initially small olive-colored spots which grow and darken over time. In the case of severe paralysis, the spots merge into larger clusters. Infected fruits grow worse, may be deformed and fall off after some time. At first, light brown discoloration can be observed on the shoots, and dark brown discoloration as the disease develops.These are where the bark breaksand the tree produces large amounts of gum trying to seal the wounds.
