Remember to cover the heathers (Practical Gardener)

Table of contents

In January, if we have not yet covered the plants, remember to protect them, which will help them survive the winter (especially low shrubs).Snowless winter, so common in Western Poland , forces us to cover low heathers, heathers, low azaleas, pernets and many others.

We protect them from low temperatures and, above all, strong winds that blow plants, forcing them to transpire intensively. This results in the drying out of plants that cannot take up water because the soil is frozen. For the cover we can use white non-woven fabric, shading net, you dress from conifers.

Remember that these materials let both air and precipitation pass through.
