Pond from a plastic sandbox

Table of contents

Pondis a great addition to any plot. It does not matter if it is a large pond or a small water reservoir - the effect is always pleasantly surprising.

In our gardenpondhas been in the center for several years now. Recently, we have de alt with the development of the rear part of the plot, which has so far been unused. We had aplastic sandbox , which had been lying useless since we bought a new one for our daughter, entirely made of wood. With the help of an old container, I decided to create a quiet corner.

Sandboxfits perfectly between the pavement and the fence. We placed it under the balcony so thatthe noise of the springcould also be listened to at home. We dug the container into the ground, following the same rules as when setting up largerponds

Stages of creating a pond

  • At the bottom of the sandbox, as well as on its shelves, we poured two-colored gravel, which hid the artificial blue color.
  • We planted various plants around the tank. They do not take up much space, so even in the future they should not cover the pond.boxwood ,lavender ,rock flowersandsmall coniferous shrubs grow here .
  • The pondwas sprinkled with small pebbles to cover the outline of the sandbox. Behind the gravel, we put a layer of bark, which not only looks aesthetically, but also protects the soil from drying out.
  • Right next to the reservoir we have set upa small fountainwhich gives this place extra charm.
  • There were alsosolar lamps- one of them is floating and beautifully adorns the water surface in the evening.
