1. Place the boxes on an even, hardened (here with gravel) surface, at approx. 1 m intervals (a checkerboard pattern) and fill them with the substrate, which is a mixture of garden soil, compost and sand.
2. Sprinkle the substrate to the level of 4-5 cm below the edge of the box and level it. There must not be too much of the substrate, because it will be washed out during watering.
3. For planting, we use herbs and flowering annuals, e.g. rosemary, thyme, zinnia, dahlias.It is recommended to plant 6 to 9 plants in one box.Pay attention to the distribution of plants of different sizes.
4. We place pots with plants and assess the planting density.If necessary, rearrange the pots.
5. We plant. Press the soil around the plants tightly and then water them abundantly.
A way to quickly beautify your property
The raised beds described in this article are seasonal and can be established even on barren and degraded land (even on a concrete slab).That is why this assumption is intended mainly for annual plants.Of course, nothing stands in the way of maintaining such patches for several seasons.
