I enjoy working outdoors, among greenery. In my home garden there are colorful beds with annuals and perennials. I also plant a lot of plants in pots. There is a lot of soil in , which makes them heavy and not easy to move. A few years ago, I came up with an interesting solution - I put polystyrene at the bottom of each container, instead of traditional drainage. I fill about ¼ of the volume of the vessel with it. Such a pot is lighter because there is less soil inside. I did not notice any negative impact on the plants, on the contrary - they all grow beautifully. I just have to remember that for tall specimens - such as two meters long nightshade - the bottom of the pot should be about 10 cm into the ground. Thanks to this treatment, the flowers are more stable and the wind will not knock them over.
