The roots should outgrow the lump, which we can see with the naked eye - individual roots grow through the holes in the bottom of the pot. This is worth knowing, as some dishonest growers dig up the trees 2-3 weeks before sale and plant them in pots. Such trees have a damaged root system and will not have time to outgrow the root ball. When they are transferred to their apartments, they dry up and die. The tree must have all shoots and branches, and the needles should be of the same color without discoloration and drying out. Place them away from radiators, and systematically water them so that the substrate is moderately moist. The tree should be kept in a warm room
7-10 days maximum. Longer detention leads to the so-calledtoughening - juices begin to circulate more intensively in the plant and it may start to grow. In this case, we can save the tree by putting it in a cool, bright room, keep it until the first decade of May, and then plant it in the ground. In winter, when the soil is frozen, the best solution is to move the tree and the pot to a quiet balcony or terrace or to the garden. We must protect the plant against frost by wrapping the pot with cloth, fleece or even paper. It is worth placing the pot on a piece of polystyrene or thick cardboard. We water the tree from time to time. If the soil has not frozen, the tree can be planted in a permanent place, but it is better to put a pot in a quiet part of the garden and plant a tree in spring. Choose a sunny position, bearing in mind that spruce and fir trees ultimately become large, so they need a lot of space.
PROTECTION
AIR HUMIDITY IS IMPORTANTpouring water into the cradle. You can also cover the substrate in the pot with moss etc. to prevent excessive evaporation of water in heated rooms.
ATTENTION FOR PESTS OF HOUSE FLOWERS!We carefully observe the plants for the presence of pests, such as mealybugs, bowls, scales, thrips. For this purpose, colored sticky boards can be used. If we find that our plants are fed by pests, we treat them with preparations, for example Provado Plus or Confidor 200 SL.
WE FIGHT POTATOESEarthen flies are tiny flies that we can see when watering plants. To combat them, water the plants with Nomolt 150 SC.
WATERING IS NECESSARYThe conifers growing in the pots are watered even in frosty weather, and the pots are covered with straw, paper or polystyrene to prevent the soil in the pot from freezing.
