Stone discount

Table of contents

I like garden experiments. Two years ago I decided to build an elevated bed, where plants will be visible, and the garden will take on a new character.

I chose a site, dug up the plants and transplanted them elsewhere. Then I collected field stones, and I needed a lot of them. After a long reflection on the shape and height of the discount, I marked lines on the ground and started building a rock wall. I used stones of different sizes, so I had to arrange them so that they would not fall and there was no space between them.

Then I brought two carts of good soil and compost. At the beginning, I planted tulip bulbs, heathers and a chrysanthemum bush in the flowerbed.

On the north side of the flowerbed there is a small hedge of ground cover roses, and on the south side I planted bearded irises and narcissi. A huge clump of ornamental grass grows right next to them.

Tulips appear on the discount in spring. After flowering, I plant annuals, such as marigolds, mallow, and asters that bloom until late fall. Heathers and a gorgeous yellow chrysanthemum also grow there during this time.
