Sowing in June - the best moon phase for individual plants

If you want to plan your garden work and find out when is the best time for specific activities, check out our lunar schedule to help you make your decision:

Moon phase June 5-12 (root square)

During the root square, it is worth focusing on planting and sowing root plants, which will perfectly adapt to the soil during this period. You can sow and plant into the ground or in elevated vegetable beds. Kohlrabi seedling will be perfect and it's a good time to sow red beet. It is worth paying attention to those varieties that we will not harvest until the fall. Don't forget to sow string beans for continuous harvesting.

During this time, we trim leafy hedges of hornbeam, beech, boxwood and privet, as well as apple and pear trees in the rows. Additionally, the overblown inflorescences of rhododendrons, azaleas and lilacs should be removed.

Moon phase June 13-20 - pruning (square crop)

During the cultivation quarter, we sow dill and spinach for continuous harvesting. Additionally, we plant the seedling of crisp lettuce from the April sowing. We do the same with broccoli, Brussels sprouts and kale.

This is a good time to put on the bands to catch the fruit caterpillars. We place special nets on ripening cherry fruits so that starlings and other birds, such as jays, cannot access them.

Moon phase June 21-27 (leaf square)

At this time, we focus on garden dill and seedlings of white cabbage or Brussels sprouts. It is best to use seedlings than sowing.

This is a good time to supplement plants with organic and ecological fertilizers. After watering, gently loosen the soil so that the ingredients penetrate the soil better. We spray apple trees, pears and vines against pests and diseases. You can also use natural nettle spray for this.

Cut the grass after June 23 to make it grow back slower and stay dense and shiny at the same time. Don't forget to fertilize the summer with the right nutrients for the soil.

Moon phase July 28-5 - preserves (square of fruit)

Preparation of preserves can take place throughout the whole square of the fruit, where we marinate, preserve and process the fruit into jams and preserves. During this time, we collect the first raspberries, currants, gooseberries and cherries.

We water the crops using the principle - better, but abundantly. In this way, we will additionally harden the plants and make them resistant to possible drought. During such treatment, water penetrates deep into the soil, which allows for a better development of the root system.
