Formally bonsai - a bonsai style garden

Table of contents

The ideaof forming conifers in the bonsai stylewas born a few years ago after visiting a gardening exhibition. As there was no shortage of material to cut, I set to work.
I started cautiously, apprehensive and with trembling hands. The first choice was the pea cypress. I gave it the shape of balls at the ends of the shoots. I dragged its twigs with a string to make it look more neat. It was easier with the other conifers.
Plants can be given various shapes, starting from balls, through cones, plates or spirals. For molding, I recommendm.in.:

  • cypresses,
  • cisy,
  • Chinese junipers,
  • thuje.

Thecutting time is very important . The first is in April and the second - at the end of August. I just make sure not to do it too late - new growths must lignified before winter. In spring I limit care to fertilizing, and in summer to watering.
