In every garden we encounter stones that cause us problems. For several years I have been successfully using them to create interesting compositions.
- To make turtles, look for a boulder that resembles an armor and adjust the size of the other one, which will be the head. Cut two holes in it with a drill, which become eyes when painted. Finally, add the four curved rock legs and you're done. Stone turtles look best on yellow sand.
- Mushrooms are made as follows. We choose the stones according to the shape and size.We drill a hole in the hat and the handle. Then we glue the wire 5-7 mm thick (I use colorless silicone for gluing marble and stones). When we hammer the end of the wire into the ground, the mushroom will be stable and will not tip over even in high winds.
- The outlines of the twigs were cut with a diamond disc mounted on an angle grinder. I put the stones on the side in a similar way to mushrooms. I painted the middle boulder to make the drawing look older.
- In the snakes-shaped stones I drilled recesses and painted them red. I attached the heads to the flat rocks with the rods glued there earlier.
- In the pansies I put round stones connected to each other. I cut them from the bottom with a square, put a flat bar and connected it with glue. Stones may break when processed with a hammer drill. It is safer to cut a scratch 2-3 cm deep and stick a flat bar on silicone.
In stones of various shapes and sizes, I drilled holes for the eyes, cut out the mouth with a corner and painted it with frost-resistant paint. Now, every time I am in the garden, rock heads are watching me.
