Garden arrangement - plants that will color every garden

Table of contents

When planning planting in the garden, remember to include decorative plants in it also in the fall. If they run out, we will not enjoy one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.

A harbinger of the upcoming autumn in my garden is the bloominggoldenrod(Solidago hybrida), sometimes called the Polish mimosa. It is a perennial with a stiff stem, growing up to 150 cm. Its shoots end with yellow, large panicles of flowers that move gracefully in the wind. Goldenrod looks nice in a larger group. It can be cut into vases or composed of dry bouquets. This perennial grows well in any substrate and is completely frost-resistant.I planted my goldenrod by the pond, but it is so expansive that it has spread all over the garden. I tear out their excess and usually treat them as a "substitute plant", which, for example, fills the bed after spring bulbs - tulips or crocuses.

Veitchii 'Veitchii'(Parthenocissus tricuspidata) is another autumn accent in front of my house. Similarly toVirginia Creeper 'Murora'(Parthenocissus quinquefolia), which sticks perfectly to the fence. The bright and dark green of the leaves in the summer in autumn changes as in a kaleidoscope, from yellow, orange to red.

Equally delightful at the end of the horticultural season is thescarlet fire(Pyracantha coccinea), whose orange fruit stays on the branches until winter. However, the shrub is not very hardy to frost, so it should be planted in a quiet place and covered. Purple berries gathered in clusters delight the eyes in autumnBodiniera beauty(Callicarpa bodinieri). Wild rose(Rosa canina) tempts with red, tasty fruits, andsea buckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides) with orange, also edible.

Vinegar sumac(Rhus typhina) is also a striking accent of the autumn garden. It's not only the discoloration of the leaves that make it an important part of this season. Large, maroon inflorescences standing at the ends of the shoots remain on the tree all year round. Sumac is not liked because of the numerous root suckers that must be constantly removed. In addition, it is a species extremely undemanding to cultivation and tolerant to the soil. It also has an original, exotic shape.

When writing about nicely colored plants, it is also worth mentioningpalm maple(Acer palmatum). Most of its varieties are quite capricious in cultivation. All of them require humus soil, slightly acidic and moderately moist. When their substrate is too dry, the tips of the leaves dry up. They root shallowly, therefore, to keep moisture in the substrate longer, they should be sprinkled with bark.Maples like quiet, warm and semi-shaded places. They are sensitive to frost. My specimens bravely survived the last winter.

I didn't cover the clones of the cultivar by an oversight'Butterfly'Fortunately, it froze to a small extent and revived in the spring. The palm maples are colorful from April to November. My favorite variety is'Osakazuki'- green-leaved in summer and red in autumn. An additional decoration is the fruit - bright red double-winged trees. In my garden, also yellow-green in summer and intensely red in autumn, palm maple grows'Higasa yama'Young leaves of the variety'Beni Maiko'are pink-red, then turn green, and in autumn they delight with their blood-red color.Clone 'Orange dream'is a real orange dream. It welcomes spring with golden leaves that turn green in summer and orange in autumn.

My colorful autumn garden is also created by asters, hydrangeas, Japanese anemones, Syrian ketmas, heathers, wintertime and of course colorful chrysanthemums.
